Kelly Obenauf

Committee Member Spotlight

We’re excited to spotlight ACF Co-Chair (and incoming 2025 Chair), Kelly Obenauf. Kelly operates the Obenauf Agency in Rockford, and has served Kent and surrounding counties for sixteen years.

In addition to his service as an agent, Kelly is a Founding Member of the ACF and was drawn to the mission of feeding kids, families and neighbors in need. As Kelly says, “I love giving to nonprofits that help change futures for those in need. Most of us take for granted not missing a meal, but for others, that is not the case. Imagine going hungry every day, and all you can think about is food. The ACF fills a need we take for granted, so kids have a better chance at success. And someday, that child can pay it forward to others in need.”

Kelly became further involved with the mission when he joined the ACF Committee in 2019. As Kelly recalls, “The main reason I became involved is because I was asked by respected peers. At first, I planned on serving one term, but after witnessing the impact the ACF was making year after year, I decided to stay on board and help ensure the success of the mission.” Kelly wears many hats on the ACF Committee, serving as the Co-Chair for the past two years, reviewing grant applications on the Grant Fulfillment Committee, and co-chairing ACF’s largest fundraising event, the Statewide Fundraiser.

For those interested in getting more involved with the ACF, Kelly advises the following - “You won’t regret it! Not only do we get to deepen relationships with peers, we also get to brainstorm how we can help more kids and families across the state of Michigan. New members bring in fresh ideas and open doors we might never have known existed.”

Thanks for being part of our team, Kelly!
