ACF Makes Impact in Alpena
Farm Bureau agents Bobby Barrigar and Dave Bell recently received a grant from the Agent Charitable Fund to donate food to the Under His Wings Christian Fellowship Church food pantry in Alpena. Normally, the pantry serves up to 100 individuals on a budget of only $100 per month. Through the grant, Bobby and Dave were able to provide thousands of dollars of food to the pantry.
Not only did the grant provide a much needed service to the community, it provided these North Region agents with some media attention too. Are you interested in giving back to your community and promoting your agency? According to Bobby, it’s easy.
“The questions asked in the application helped me better prepare so I could maximize the exposure for my office and the ACF as a whole,” commented Bobby.
Don’t know where to start? Begin by visiting endhungerinmichigan.org and completing a grant application. Applicants must be contributing members to ACF and the grant must benefit a nonprofit or faith-based organization serving the community at large and advance the ACF mission.
The next round of applications are due by July 31.
